What is the Brochure Planner?

Understand how your brochure is printed

With saddle stitching, pages are not simply printed in order. Instead, two pages are placed side by side on a sheet that is then folded. The Brochure Planner shows you exactly which pages land on which print sheet.

You can also see which print sides become color prints because of a single color page - allowing you to optimize if needed.

How it works

Plan your brochure in 3 steps

1

Upload PDF

Upload your PDF. The color analysis automatically detects which pages contain color.

2

View print sheets

See in the printer view exactly which pages land on which sheet and what becomes color or B/W printing.

3

Check brochure

Switch to the result view and flip through the finished brochure to check the result.

FAQ

Brochure Planner FAQ

Why does the page count need to be divisible by 4?

With saddle stitching, each sheet is folded in the middle. Since one sheet carries 4 pages (front and back, 2 pages each), the total page count must be divisible by 4. If your PDF has e.g. 11 pages, it is rounded up to 12 and the last page remains blank.

What does it mean when a print side is marked as color print?

Each print side has two brochure pages next to each other. If even one of them contains color, the entire print side must be printed as a color print. The planner shows you exactly which page causes the color print.

What is the difference between printer view and result view?

The printer view shows the physical print sheets - how the pages actually land on paper before it is folded. The result view shows the finished brochure as you would open and flip through it.
